Lost Surfboards
Lost Surfboards, shaped under the Mayhem label by Matt Biolos, are some of the most trusted performance boards in the world. From high-performance shortboards to small-wave grovelers, fish, and midlengths, Lost has a design for almost every surfer and wave type. At Rider Shack, we stock a wide range of Lost Surfboards and ride them ourselves in Los Angeles waves. When you order from us, you’re supporting a small, family-run core surf shop — not a faceless warehouse.

Lost Surfboards FAQ
Are Lost Surfboards good for beginners?
Some Lost models are better suited for beginners than others. Total beginners usually do best on a soft-top, midlength, or longboard. However, fuller, user-friendly Lost shapes like the Puddle Jumper series, Crowd Killer, Cobra Killer Mid, and Smooth Operator can work well for progressing surfers who already catch waves and stand up consistently.
Which Lost surfboard is best for small waves?
For small and average waves, boards like the Puddle Jumper OG, Puddle Jumper HP, Puddle Jumper Sting, Party Platter, Glydra, and the RNF line (RNF ’96, RNF Retro, RNF Retro ’23, RNF Kingfish) are all excellent choices.
What Lost board should I choose as my daily driver?
For an everyday board, many surfers gravitate toward models like the Quiver Killer, Sub Driver 2.0, Driver 3.0 (for higher-performance surfers), and Rad Ripper. The best choice depends on your skill level, local waves, and how much volume you like under your feet.
What’s the difference between the RNF and the Puddle Jumper?
The RNF line is more of a traditional performance fish-inspired design with a round nose and swallow tail, suited for fast, skatey lines and a bit more performance surfing. The Puddle Jumper family is generally shorter, wider, and more “stubby,” maximizing planing area and volume to keep you flying in weak surf. Both are fun in small waves, but they have different outlines and feels.
Do you ship Lost Surfboards outside of Los Angeles?
Yes. We ship Lost Surfboards nationwide with live UPS rates shown in your cart. You can also choose free in-store pickup in Los Angeles or free Central Coast pickup in areas like Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, and Lompoc. Full details are on our Shipping & Returns page.
