Lost Driver 3

Filters

The Lost Driver 3.0 is Matt Biolos’ premier high-performance shortboard, refined through years of R&D with the world’s best surfers. If you're chasing a board that holds speed through critical sections, carves powerful turns, and remains ultra-responsive under your feet, the Driver 3.0 stands at the top of the Mayhem lineup.

Designed with input from top-level WCT surfers, this board excels in good, punchy surf — think shoulder-high to well-overhead waves. It’s fast, sharp, and built for rail surfing, making it one of the most complete high-performance shortboards Lost has ever produced.

Who Is the Lost Driver 3.0 For?

The Driver 3.0 is not a beginner board — this shape is tailored for intermediate+ to advanced surfers who:

  • Prefer a performance shortboard feel with plenty of projection.
  • Surf beach breaks, points, or reefs where waves have punch.
  • Want a board that rewards technical, rail-focused surfing.
  • Already feel comfortable generating speed and controlling turns.
  • Want a competition-ready or travel-ready shortboard.

If you’re progressing but not yet ready for something this sensitive, you may prefer the Sub Driver 2.0 or Quiver Killer.

Lost Driver 3.0 Design Features

Rocker & Speed

The Driver 3.0 carries a medium entry rocker and a refined tail rocker, allowing for tight arcs in the pocket. It feels lively under your feet, generating instant speed without sacrificing control.

Outline & Rails

The outline is sleek and streamlined with a narrow-ish tail for precision. Blended rails grip well in steeper waves, giving the Driver 3.0 a responsive and locked-in feel when pushed hard on rail.

Bottom Contours

Expect a single-to-double concave that maximizes lift, flow, and responsiveness — ideal for surfers who thrive on speed and transition.

Fin Setup

The Lost Driver 3.0 is designed as a thruster, the most reliable setup for high-performance predictability. Works best with stiffer, more upright fin templates for speed and release.

Construction Options

Depending on what we have in stock, the Driver 3.0 may be available in:

  • PU/Poly – Classic feel, great in good waves.
  • Carbon Wrap / C4 – Lightweight and lively flex for high-performance surfing.
  • EPS (select models) – More buoyant option for weaker surf.

What Size Lost Driver 3.0 Should I Ride?

Most surfers ride the Driver 3.0 the same length or 1" shorter than their typical performance shortboard, depending on desired volume. If you surf punchy LA beach breaks like El Porto or Topanga on bigger days, you may size up slightly for hold.

Best Waves for the Lost Driver 3.0

The Driver 3.0 thrives in:

  • Shoulder-high to overhead surf
  • Punchy beach breaks
  • Fast point breaks
  • Travel surf with power

It’s less suited for mushy or weak small-wave surf — for those days, try the Puddle Jumper OG, Glydra, or Lost Fish Boards.
