Sale Surfboards
Looking to score a great surfboard without paying full price? Our sale surfboards section is where you’ll find discounted boards from top brands like Lost, Firewire, Pyzel, Channel Islands, Torq, Modern, Catch Surf, and more. These are the same high-quality shapes you’d find at full retail — just marked down due to overstock, prior seasons, cosmetic blemishes, or special promos. Every purchase supports Rider Shack, a small, family-run core surf shop in Los Angeles.

How to Choose the Right Sale Surfboard
Even when a board is discounted, it still needs to be the right board for you. Consider:
- Your skill level: Beginners usually want longboards, midlengths, or soft tops with plenty of volume.
- Your local waves: Match the board to the kind of surf you actually get — small and mushy, punchy beach break, or lined-up point breaks.
- Volume & dimensions: Make sure the liters and size make sense for your height, weight, and fitness.
- Quiver role: Decide if this will be your daily driver, groveler, step-up, or specialty board.
If you’re unsure which sale board is the best fit, contact us with your height, weight, surf experience, and favorite LA spots. We’ll help you narrow it down or compare a few options.
New vs Used vs Sale Boards

Sale Surfboards FAQ
Why are these surfboards on sale?
Boards go on sale for a variety of reasons — overstock, prior-year models, cosmetic blemishes, or special promotions. In most cases they are brand-new boards at a reduced price, unless clearly marked otherwise.
Are sale surfboards lower quality?
No. Sale boards are the same high-quality constructions and shapes you’d find at full price. The discount is usually due to timing (older model), inventory levels, or minor cosmetic details — not a lower build quality.
Can I return or exchange a sale surfboard?
Return and exchange options for sale surfboards depend on their specific promo and condition. Some sale boards may be final sale. Please review our Shipping & Returns page or contact us before purchasing if you have questions about returning a discounted board.
Do you offer used surfboards as well as sale surfboards?
Yes. In addition to our discounted new boards, we offer a large selection of Used Surfboards that are hand-inspected by surfers for structural integrity and watertightness.
Do you ship sale surfboards?
Yes. We ship sale surfboards nationwide with live UPS shipping rates shown in your cart. Smaller boards typically ship for $65–$120, while larger or wider boards may cost $150–$240 depending on destination and dimensions. Boards over 8' require freight or pickup. See our Shipping & Returns page for details.
How often do you add new boards to the sale section?
New sale surfboards are added whenever we rotate inventory, receive new shipments, or run special promos. That means the sale section can change quickly — check back often if you’re hunting for deals on specific brands or models.
