The Lost 97 AI Pro 6'0" Surfboard is a classic high-performance model tied to the legacy of the late Andy Irons, one of the most influential and accomplished surfers of his generation. At 6'0" x 18.63" x 2.31" with 27.2 liters, this board reflects the narrower, lower-volume performance approach of its era and comes with a traditional glass-on thruster fin setup for a direct, connected feel.

A Classic Andy Irons Performance Model

The 97 AI Pro comes from an era when Lost and Matt Biolos were shaping boards for some of the most progressive surfers in the world, including Andy Irons. This model is rooted in that period of high-performance surfing, with dimensions aimed at experienced riders who value speed, precision, rail control, and responsiveness over added flotation or forgiveness.

For surfers who appreciate the history of performance surfboard design, the AI connection gives this board significance beyond its dimensions. It represents an older-school pro-level approach to shortboard design and the type of equipment associated with one of surfing's legendary competitors.

Key Features

  • Andy Irons legacy model: Classic Lost performance design associated with the late three-time world champion.
  • 6'0" length: Performance-focused sizing for quick, responsive surfing.
  • 27.2 liters: Low-volume platform intended for experienced surfers.
  • 18.63" width: Narrow performance dimensions for a precise rail-to-rail feel.
  • Glass-on thruster fins: Traditional fixed-fin construction for a direct connection between board and fins.
  • Thruster setup: Balanced control, hold, and predictable response through committed turns.

Built for Experienced, Performance-Oriented Surfers

At only 27.2 liters, the 97 AI Pro is not designed around easy flotation or relaxed surfing. Its narrower dimensions and lower volume are better suited to experienced surfers who can generate their own speed and want a sensitive, responsive board that reacts quickly to rider input.

A Piece of Lost and Andy Irons Surf History

Andy Irons remains one of professional surfing's most celebrated figures, and boards connected to his era represent an important period in high-performance surfboard design. The 97 AI Pro combines that history with a legitimate performance shape, making it especially interesting for surfers who appreciate both how a board rides and the lineage behind it.

Rider Shack Note

Buying your Lost 97 AI Pro from Rider Shack supports a small business and core surf shop run by surfers. This is the kind of board that appeals not only to experienced surfers looking for a precise performance ride, but also to riders who appreciate the history of Andy Irons, Lost Surfboards, and the progression of modern shortboard surfing.
