...Lost 5'4" Party Platter Surfboard

Turn tiny, lackluster surf into a session worth paddling out for with the ...Lost 5'4" Party Platter Surfboard. Designed by Matt “Mayhem” Biolos as an ultra-short, extra-wide small-wave groveler, the Party Platter packs 33.25 liters of volume into a compact 5'4" platform built for easy paddling, instant speed, stability, and maximum fun when the waves are barely cooperating.

With a low rocker, parallel outline, full rails, and a wide, stable platform, the Party Platter is designed to carry speed through weak sections where a traditional performance shortboard can struggle. Whether you're looking to make the most of summertime ankle-to-waist-high surf or simply want a compact board that keeps your wave count high, this is a purpose-built small-wave machine.

Why the ...Lost Party Platter Works in Small Waves

Low Rocker for Instant Speed

The Party Platter uses a low-rocker profile that helps the board accelerate quickly and maintain momentum over flat sections. Instead of needing a steep, powerful wave to generate speed, the board is designed to glide efficiently across weak surf and turn minimal wave energy into forward drive.

Ultra-Short, Extra-Wide Outline

At just 5'4" long and 21.25" wide, the Party Platter combines a remarkably compact length with plenty of planing surface. Its parallel outline helps create speed and drive while giving the board a stable, confidence-inspiring feel underfoot. The compact length also keeps it maneuverable and responsive once you're up and riding.

Flat Deck and Full Rails

A flatter deck and full rails help distribute the Party Platter's 33.25 liters of volume efficiently. The result is extra flotation and stability without needing to ride a much longer board. This makes it easier to paddle into softer waves and helps the board maintain glide when conditions lack power.

Concave-to-Vee Bottom Contours

Conservative bottom contours combine concave and vee to balance lift with rail engagement. The concave helps the board plane and generate speed, while the vee contributes to smoother rail-to-rail transitions so the Party Platter can still be surfed aggressively rather than simply cruised in weak waves.

Quad Fin Performance

The quad-fin setup complements the Party Platter's small-wave design by emphasizing speed, drive, and hold without the drag of a center fin. This configuration is ideal for generating momentum quickly and carrying it through soft sections, while still providing enough control to draw fast lines and redirect the board when a small wave offers an opportunity to turn.

Who Is the 5'4" Party Platter For?

The ...Lost Party Platter is built for surfers who refuse to write off a day simply because the waves are small. Its generous width, volume, and stable outline can make it approachable for developing surfers, while its compact size and responsive design give intermediate and advanced riders plenty of opportunity to surf weak waves progressively.

For experienced shortboarders, it can serve as a dedicated groveler for days when normal performance boards aren't generating enough speed. For progressing surfers, the added flotation and planing area can provide a more forgiving platform than a narrow, heavily rockered shortboard. As always, the best size depends on your weight, ability, fitness, and preferred level of flotation.

Best Conditions for the Party Platter

The Party Platter truly comes alive in small, weak surf. Think summertime beach breaks, soft peaks, slow rolling waves, and those 1-3 foot days when you want shortboard maneuverability but need substantially more glide and planing ability. Its combination of low rocker, width, and volume is specifically designed to make marginal conditions more surfable and more fun.
