What Is the Pyzel Score Lord?

The Score Lord is Pyzel's high-volume daily driver designed around catching more waves while retaining performance potential. Pyzel developed the model by experimenting with ways to add useful volume without losing sensitivity, resulting in a board that blends width, thickness, rocker, paddle power, and responsive handling.

In the larger sizes, the Score Lord provides an alternative for surfers who want significant flotation and glide without moving to a traditional longboard-style design. The goal is increased wave count and easier paddling while still giving the surfer a board that can be actively turned and driven through the wave.

56 Liters in the 7'6 Score Lord

This 7'6" Score Lord carries 56 liters of volume. Combined with its 22 1/2-inch width and 3 1/8-inch thickness, the board provides substantial flotation, stability, and paddle support.

That makes this size particularly interesting for larger surfers, surfers looking to maximize wave count, or experienced surfers who want significantly more glide and paddle power than a conventional shortboard provides. The Score Lord's design is intended to make that added foam useful without turning the board into a purely passive cruiser.

Paddle Power, Stability & Glide

Pyzel designed the Score Lord specifically to maximize paddle power, stability, and glide. Those characteristics become especially noticeable in a larger size like the 7'6, where the additional length and 56 liters of volume provide plenty of board beneath the surfer.

The extra support can help with getting into waves earlier and maintaining momentum through softer sections. For surfers who value wave count but still want to surf with a performance-oriented approach, the Score Lord provides a useful middle ground between a conventional shortboard and a more traditional cruiser.

Designed to Stay Responsive

A key part of the Score Lord concept is adding volume without unnecessarily sacrificing sensitivity. Pyzel designed the larger and wider Score Lords to transition efficiently from rail to rail, helping the board pump, redirect, and flow through turns despite the additional surface area and flotation.

This makes the 7'6 more than simply a large-volume wave catcher. It is designed to give surfers the benefits of a bigger board while preserving enough responsiveness to actively engage the rail and change direction.

Futures Thruster / Quad 5-Fin Setup

This 7'6" Score Lord has five Futures fin boxes, allowing it to be configured as either a thruster or a quad. A thruster provides the familiar combination of drive, control, hold, and pivot associated with three-fin surfing.

Running the board as a quad provides another option for surfers who want to experiment with a different balance of speed, drive, and release. The five-fin layout makes it easy to tune the board around personal preference and the waves being surfed.

Fins are not included, so compatible Futures fins will need to be supplied separately.

PU / Poly Construction

This Score Lord is listed with traditional PU/poly construction. PU construction provides the familiar feel and flex associated with traditional fiberglass surfboards and complements the Score Lord's performance-oriented daily-driver design.

What Waves Is the Score Lord Designed For?

Pyzel designed the Score Lord to work across a broad range of conditions and rates the model for approximately 2- to 10-foot surf. Its combination of paddle power, stability, glide, and performance potential allows it to function as an everyday board rather than being limited to one narrow type of wave.

The larger 7'6 size places additional emphasis on paddle support and glide while retaining the same overall Score Lord design concept.

Who Is the 7'6 Score Lord Best For?

The 7'6 Score Lord is worth considering for surfers who specifically want substantial flotation and wave-catching assistance without giving up the ability to surf the board actively. Its 56-liter volume can make it particularly relevant for bigger surfers or surfers who prefer a longer, more supportive daily driver.

Surfboard sizing should not be based on volume alone. Surfer weight, ability, fitness, typical waves, current equipment, and desired surfing style should all be considered when deciding whether the 7'6 Score Lord is the right size.
