Performance and Design

The 9 Fish Yellowtail is designed for surfers who enjoy fast, flowing lines and relaxed, playful surfing. Its wider outline and generous thickness provide plenty of flotation, helping surfers paddle efficiently and catch waves earlier than they might on a traditional shortboard.

The Futures twin-fin setup delivers a loose, lively feel with smooth rail-to-rail transitions and plenty of down-the-line speed. This configuration is ideal for drawing long, stylish turns, generating speed through flatter sections, and enjoying the classic feel of a twin-fin fish.

At 6'10", this board offers an appealing middle ground between a compact fish and a traditional midlength. The additional length helps with paddling and glide while still allowing surfers to approach waves with a playful, maneuverable style.

Ideal Wave Conditions and Surfer

This 6'10 Yellowtail is particularly well suited for small to medium surf, including mellow beach breaks, rolling point breaks, and softer waves where extra paddle power and glide are beneficial.

Its generous dimensions make it a great option for intermediate surfers looking for a forgiving, easy-to-paddle board, as well as experienced surfers who want a fun alternative to their everyday shortboard. Surfers transitioning from a longboard may also appreciate the added flotation and approachable dimensions.
