The security surf carrier stays attached to the racks. you no longer have to gather the straps then throw or feed them through the rack bars. Just load the boards, tighten the buckle and go! Please note if you have a factory roof rack installed with wider cross bars you will need to purchase additonal racks pads such as the Dakine Aero Pads. The pads included in this kit work great with Thule and Yakima style cross bars.
