Channel Islands 5'11 Fred Stubble Surfboard
$699.99
Add to Cart
A Fred Rubble condensed in a shorter and wider package. Made for surfing in sub-chest high conditions, the Stubble boasts a wider nose and tail, reduced nose and tail rocker, single entry concave with magnified double barrel concave through the fins and vee upon exit. The design change produced a board that stays on rail even in flat spots, glides over reo sections, draws tight arcs in the smallest pockets, and paddles like a board 3” longer.

The Lost Sub Scorcher 2 surfboard is a fresh twist on the extremely popular Sub Scorcher model. The Vee bottom was removed from the last 6" of the tail which increases the rocker by about a 1/4" still keeping the rail line static. As a result the board surfs looser for better vertical and pocket surfing. To keep the board fast with losts of drive Lost straightened the outline in the tail by adding the double wing swallow tail. This is a great everyman's daily average wave shortboard.

The V2-ShortBoard" Is the most anticipated new shortboard model Lost has had in years. The RnD process proved this board as suited to the "Domesticated" surfer, as to the traveling Pro.
Initially created as a board for Matt Biolos after being harassed by certain team riders to "Get off those fun-boards he was always riding and ride a real board". He set about to build a performance shortboard that would allow him to compete for waves in a crowded line up and also let him surf them as easily as on the best and most trusted hybrids. Starting with what was considered to be their most hybrid board, the V2-Rocket, they stretched the nose outline into a pointy, yet conservative, nose and blended the winged "Rocket" tail into a smooth curving squash with generous surface area. The exceedingly low entry rocker, coupled with continuous and generous tail lift, made for a board that both paddled and rolled into waves well, but turned tight and precise in the pocket. The board features a similar foil and rails as its predecessor and continues to have slight double concave deck under the rear foot (which really feels positive and "locks" the surfer into place). The initial results on the first, "Domesticated", version were so positive that Matt ended up surfing these boards, daily, for nearly 3 months straight….without reverting back to any shorter/rounder "cheater" boards. Assuming it would work for the team riders as well, they instantly began to downsize the design to the volume the assorted Pros would appreciate and started dolling them out to the boys. Positive feedback followed with almost instantaneous success. Taylor Clark used a pair of 5'11" 18.88" 2.20" V2-SBs to win both the NSSA Open Mens National Title in HB , and the U-18 Title at The US Championships at Trestles (In addition to the VQS National Champs, in Newport beach). Griffin Colapinto won The U-16 Title at the US Champs and the NSSA Boys Title in HB.. Both on a 5'6 17.63 2.06 V2-SB. After these stellar results , and other fantastic feedback form various other surfers, Lost set out to get them under the feet of some International Pros. This resulted in Julian Wilson riding a 5'10 18.75 2.25 and doing subsequently stellar surfing at the US OPEN . Alejo Muniz got his US Open victory (against Team rider, Kolohe Andino, in a dueling Mayhems final) on a 5'10 18.50 2.20 V2-SB. Finally, one week after the Open, Malia Manuel took down a stacked field (featuring the majority of the womens WCT World Tour) at the SuperGirl 6-Star event in Oceanside. She won the event on a 5'6 18.13 2.13 V2-Shortboard.

Kolohe’s all around small to average wave contest board is also the most popular HP short board in Lost’s line. His trademark carving style is based around this rocker, outline and rails. The SCORCHER features the same low entry rocker, forward outline and rear rail line rocker of the Stealth, but with the wide bump squash, low stringer centerline rocker and Vee out the back from the SD2. The deep Vee out the tail allows more full rail carving and drive.

Lost 5'10 Mini Driver Surfboard

The Lost Mini Driver surfboard is a great bigger wave surfboard that can be ridden shorter by a few inches than your traditional shortboard. This board has a slightly flatter rocker with a pulled in tail so it can handle the 2' slop and the macking barrels. Here is details about the surfboard as described by shaper Matt Biolos. Mini Driver – While preparing a quiver for an Indo trip Kolohe asked for “a short, fast (flat rockered) little 5 fin tube rider”. I recommended the Rock-Up, but he felt it had more tail rocker than he liked and wanted something really, really fast that he could take off extremely deep and pump through tubes from way back. We started with a 6’0” Driver, took note of the nose rocker and outline measurements at 4” and 16” back from the tip, then shrunk the board to a 5’8” and lowered the nose rocker at the tip and 12” back till it matched the 4” and 16” from before. We widened the nose until it matched up the same way. This gave us a screaming fast low nose rocker with a forward placed outline, both attributes give tons of drive. We then rounded off the tail, but left the width at 12” the same. This gave us a very clean and elliptical outline that we expected would move free and easy inside the tube. The Mini Driver performed as hoped. Interestingly enough, one of Kolohe’s buddies (Taylor Clark) grabbed it after it came back from Indo and used it in the US Nationals event in Huntington Beach. He surfed it in 2’ slop all the way to a second place finish in the Open Men’s division. The board worked in everything.

The latest in Lost's quest for the ultimate "Domesticated" design. The RV is exactly as its name implies…A “Recreational Vehicle”. Designed for extracting maximum fun with minimum effort and ease of exploitation of your precious free time…. If you want to cruise the coast in style and comfort, surf in a resplendent state of wave catching excess and bliss, then the R.V. is for you. The design stems from a blend of the Bottom Feeder/Couch Potato/LayZboy genre. Featuring the same “tip to tip” vee bottom as its predecessors. The vee negates the substantial volume and allows easy rail to rail transitions on wide, thick boards with a lot of surface area. Noticeable updates include the double wing flyers added to the tail, to reduce surface area and increase bite and precision in turns. The reduced surface area adds confidence of not sliding out in hard snaps, and carves. The nose outline has also been tweaked to reduce some are in the forward 12-18″ of the board, but without reducing drive down the line or paddle ability. The nose feels like it “comes around” quicker in turns and looks …and feels, like more of a performance design. We also shallowed the vee up front (for more trim speed and instant burst in the take off) and actually deepened the vee under the rear foot. We did this for a more solid and forgiving…”controlled” feel in turns and carves.

5'10 Lost Weekend Warrior Surfboard

The "Weekend Warrior" : Is the latest greatest "Domesticated" model Lost make. It came about after a couple months of Mayhem riding the new V2-Shortboards. When the surf got tiny he did not want to go back to the radically different small wave boards (Like the Couch Potatos or Bottom Feeders) and have to adjust so dramatically back and forth. He needed a new twist on a small wave, pointed nose, shortboard influenced design. Hoping to make as seamless of transition as possible from the V2-Shortboard, it started with a 6'3" 21" 2.75" and shortened it, then lowered the entry rocker, widened the nose a bit and widened the tail dramatically. The extreme wide tail creates a very straight outline in the rear half of the board (reminiscent of their "Tri-Fish" and other Rocket Fish of the mid 90's), He could increase the concave for more lift in small surf, which also added significant rail rocker..thus adding a more progressive and tight wrapped turning radius off of the rear foot. For the tail shape, I was thinking swallow, but it looked old and done a million times. Matt first cut a diamond into to it, hoping to shorten the rail line further and allow one to stand a bit more central on the board, and then taking a cue from many of the young indy-hipster shapers, he cut a deep wedge into the stringer. This created a "Split Diamond" tail. The prototype I made myself seemed to cause some controversy. At the same time, it also gave this design a lot of instant recognition and surely brought the other shapers plenty of exposure they might not have normally received. All the elements add up to a shorter, compact and effective small wave design that is high on volume, but holds and carries it well. It should allow us "Domesticated" dudes another option to chose from in order to ride a pointed nose weapon in small and gutless surf. it makes an incredible one/two punch as a two board quiver with the V2-Shortboard. For those turned off by the Split Diamond tail, We have already made them as swallows, diamonds and even winged Squash tails…all with similar results.

Lost 6'2 Taj Whiplash Surfboard
$618.95
Add to Cart
Using the classic “Whiplash” model as a starting point, this board has now become the most refined and streamlined design in Lost’s line. Based off of TBs winning board from the 2012 Quiksilver Pro (Snapper Rocks) it is relatively low volume board , with continuous rocker (to fit where ever TB wants to go on the wave) and deep concaves (for lift and the speed to get there ). A relaxed central rocker maintains speed and carry through the flats, while hyper-extended tail kick in the last 16” and a moderately lifted nose keep the board free, loose and responsive. The outline also has an aggressive, continuous curve , cutting out all the unneeded surface area, thus no hip or bump in front of the fins that most of our boards feature. The nose, while not as needle or narrow as in the past, is still pulled enough to not get in the way of TBs fast and critical, tight radius turns. Although not for everyone, this board is relatively easy to ride and is best for younger and fit surfers who are above average, have no problem creating their own speed, and surf regularly in punchy beach or decent quality point breaks and want to surf as critical and radical as possible.

Lost 6'4 V3 Rocket Surfboard

V3 is an extension of the Rocket collection and a continuation of the Rocket tradition. We were looking for a one board quiver type of design. Starting with the V2-Rocket, The most notable difference being the double wings cut in the tail outline. These wings accelerate the reduction of surface area in tail curve, resulting in a noticeably narrower "Rocket" tail. Less width behind the rear foot equals more precision and more control in the pocket. It also allows for functionality in a wider range of wave size. The tail width at 12" is still substantial, netting a board that still feels fast, stable and squirty …even in smaller surf. When ridden as a quad, the narrower tail is freed up, allowing the surfer to stand a bit further forward and still remain loose and free in small surf. The nose outline was also pulled in a bit, in the 12-18" area, netting a more elliptical, catch free, overall outline that fits into curvy wave faces better than Rockets of the past. A more freed up and quick reacting outline that handles a wider range of waves, even powerful and well overhead, but still easy to paddle and surf in small or crowded conditions. Inspired by the positive performance feedback from the "Grocket" version (with single wing and pulled in swallow) that we released years ago. The "Grocket" was, and continues to be, a custom order favorite. Like the Grocket, The V3-Rockets higher performance characteristics in relation the other Rockets (and their wide tails) makes it the "fishy" board for guys who don't ride fish!

Firewire 5'8 Lost Sub Scorcher

Firewire technology relies primarily on the PARABOLIC Balsa Rail to control flex while the high density aerospace composite vacuumed to both top and bottom decks provides significant impact strength, and is stronger than the traditional PU surfboard.

“I wanna board for 1′ mush. Something really short and wide, but still a short board…..something like Danes board.” –Kolohe Andino

The challenged was laid down. Starting with an old SD2: We squashed the dims to 5’5″x18.63″x 2.13″, lowered the entry rocker and shallowed the concave through the center to straighten the rail line for drive and make it easier to lay such a wide platform over on a rail. “Viola!” Our stubbiest short board yet, but it still carves like a real board. Kolohe wanted to call it “The Trashcan Lid” because you don’t need to go dumpster diving to get one of these!

The Maurice Cole Metro Surfboard combines width and thickness from the old retro fish, but introduces a tow inspired bottom rocker and a very deep concave. More width in the tail creates a larger sweet spot and an accentuated change in curve at the 1 mark loosens the board up. This board replaces all Fish type boards. This design has a foot in both camps. Stability and float while still maintaining the edgy characteristics of speed and rippability. Evidence that you can occasionally teach an old dog new tricks. The Metro is easy to turn and will suit surfers that like a retro feel, but want performance from a board. Unlike an old school fish the Metro 3 will sit high on steep fast sections and won’t morph into a shopping trolley style slide when you want to lay a full tilt cutback or carve deep lines into the wave face. In 1999, Al Merrick designed the Flyer, revolutionizing high performance surfing in small waves. For 2013 Channel Islands has modernized the Flyer into a shorter and wider package. This new plan-shape allows for the same volume in a shorter rail line. We kept the forgiving 2-stage rocker and added spiral vee starting in front of the fins to allow for rail-to-rail quickness. The signature Merrick hip provides a pivot point for tight arcs.

The New Flyer is now available with a unidirectional carbon strip. The carbon stiffens the middle of the board, increasing flex and bend in the tail and thereby a tighter turn radius. The carbon also reinforces the middle portion of the board against breakage with no detectable weight.

Lost 5'8 Weekend Warrior Surfboard

Lost 5'11 Taj Whiplash Surfboard

Lost 6'6 V3 Rocket Surfboard

The Lost Lay-Z boy surfboard is both a continuation and a break away from the Bottom Feeder and Plank Genre surfboards. The Lay-Zboy takes these high volume low rocker small wave surfboard designs and brings it to a wider range of surf capabilities. This surfboard uses an elliptical outline influenced by Wayne Lynch & Michael Peterson in the 1970's as well as Dave parameter in the 80's and 90's. These elliptical outlines give the Lay-Zboy a very open and forgiving sweet spot and allow the board to be surfed in knee to well overhead waves.

Channel Islands 5'9 New Flyer Surfboard

Mid range board that paddles well and catches waves in crowded surf of all sizes without sacrificing maneuverability. Functionally ridden from 2”-24″ longer than the surfer is tall. Curvy, elliptical outline keeps it free on the wave face. Low, fast entry rocker (with an aggressive tail rocker that accelerates from center) enables the board to effortlessly catch waves and “glide” yet still carves rail turns when asked to.
