FUTURES LOST C3 CORK THRUSTER MEDIUM FIN SET

From ...Lost Master Shaper Matt Biolos:
"In developing the C3 Carbon Cork Composite line of surfboards over the last couple years, I became somewhat enamored with cork as a material. In conjunction of launching these boards, in a limited manner, globally, in 2015, we wanted to create something special to go with them. I approached Futures with the idea of a cork core fin combined with carbon fiber. They jumped at the idea and produced this wonderful set of fins. They have a firm base with a forgiving, flexible tip, and are as light as any other composite fins. It just looks and feels good to bring a natural material into the guts of the fin, versus the typical honeycomb core."

• Height: 4.56"
• Base: 4.35"
• Area: 15.12"

Size:

Tested all around Southern California in the summer of 2014, this board has more than impressed. The buzz about it is spreading fast. The speed comes from a low entry rocker and wide-ish nose, with a forward wide point and generous concave throughout. The performance comes from a moderate, but not flipped up, tail rocker, a double concave through the fins and the same sort of modern bump squash tail that you would find on a typical contest style, small wave HP shortboard. The Puddle Jumper is a con-caved, planing surfacer speeder. Domestic bliss with a twist. Based off the outline of the Bottom Feeder, but with reversed bottom and rocker curves. This board, unlike the past Domestic models (like The Bottom Feeder and RV) features a concave bottom that transitions to vee in the tail. The wide outline makes for easy wave catching and down the line glide and stability. The concave bottom adds lift and increased rail curve, which allows radical top to bottom surfing. The straight rail line and vee in the tail keep the board moving forward and hold in during hard carving maneuvers.

HaydenShapes 6'2'' Hypto Krypto Shortboard Surfboard
$775.00
Add to Cart
Currently one of the most in demand and best selling surfboards globally, The Hypto Krypto is a balance of tradition and modern performance. Suited to the elite level surfer to the everyday surfer, it is often referred to as the ‘one board quiver’ for its versatility across all types of surf conditions – from small 1-3 ft beach breaks, to barrels of up to 8ft.

It has a high amount of volume under the chest, which enables it to paddle like a dream. It’s designed for surfing on the open face, to draw fast flowing lines.

The outline resembles an old school twin fin in the nose, yet it draws back to a tight rounded pintail. The wider straighter outline up front creates plenty of speed, yet the round pintail allows tight turns in the pocket.

The foil has plenty of volume around the chest and center area of the board, yet it refines out to a thinner, pinched rail to keep the board connected to the wave.

The rocker is flat throughout, although holds a little extra lift in the entry, which helps when taking off late or turning in the steeper sections of the wave. The design of the rocker is focused around speed, to enable surfers to make sections that they don’t normally expect to make.

The concave runs from a rolled vee in the entry to a slight single, blending into a vee double out the tail which gives the board great speed and control from rail to rail.

Lost 5'7'' Split Tail RV Shortboard Surfboard

The Split Diamond tail has been growing in popularity among many shapers lately. Lost became interested in it as soon as they saw them first on boards like Tomos and Mandellas a few years ago. Adding this tail to the R.V. creates a longer, straighter rail line in the back half of the board….generating more drive off the tail. The surface area is increased, adding more lift, the notched out “split” gives a little bite and release to hold in and bleed some speed. As a fresh twist update to an already popular board, The Split Tail R.V. is as equally fun and squirty in small, connect the dot, gutless dribble as it is effective in high-lining and down carving arcs across long speedy walls.

FCS Knubster VS Surfboard Fin
$16.00
Add to Cart

The FCS VS KNUBSTER is essentially a centre fin that can be added to any quad set-up. The fin will increase drive and provide directional control through turns, without sacrificing speed, flow, or the freedom of movement typically associated with a quad.

The “KNUBSTER” is designed with a single tab that allows the fin to be positioned in the forward and rear centre plug to cater for the individual drive requirements of each surfer.

The FCS VS KNUBSTER, which is 3 3/4” by 2” high, was the 5th fin Kelly Slater used in his boards during the Quiksilver Pro in New York. According to Kelly’s report, “The KNUBSTER makes your quad set-up feel faster, smoother, and it adds a little more control. It just tightens everything it up a bit”.

Interestingly Kelly was riding the FCS VS KNUBSTER when he scored his two 10 point rides in 2011. The first at the Quiksilver Pro in NY where he performed one of the best airs ever seen in competition, and the second at The Rip Cur Pro in Portugal in heaving barrels.

Adding the FCS VS KNUBSTER to your quad set-up is an affordable way to add a new dimension

to your surfing. FCS recommends using the fin with the FCS K2.1 Quad.

Hayden Shapes 6'0 Hypto Krypto Future Flex Epoxy Surfboard
$775.00
Add to Cart

The Hypto Krypto is the most versatile shape in the Haydenshapes range, enabling it to be ridden in waves from 1ft to 8ft. It paddles like a dream due to the volume and flatter rocker. You ride the Hypto Krypto on the open face, drawing fast, flowing lines with all the speed it provides.

The outline resembles an old school twin fin in the nose, yet pulls into a rounded pin tail which will give you plenty of hold in the bigger stuff, and provide a lot of curve around the back foot. You can use the wider, straighter outline forward on the board to give you speed down the line and the rounded pintail to draw tighter arcs in the pocket.

Although the rocker of the Hypto Krypto is flat, Hayden has snuck in a little extra lift in the entry to add some curve up front; this helps taking off late, or turning in the steeper sections of the wave. The design of the rocker has been focused around speed, and more speed! The Hypto has never been shaped as a quad because it is too fast already, you’ll find yourself making sections down the line that you would never expect to make.

The foil has plenty of volume around the chest and center area of the board, yet it refines out to a thinner, more pinched rail to keep the board connected to the wave. The concave runs from a rolled vee in the entry, to a slight single transitioning into a vee double out the tail, which gives the board great speed and control from rail to rail.

Overall the Hypto Krypto is the one stop board that you can travel all around the world having fun in average conditions, as well as taking to the barrel and open face when the swell pumps!

A vector Foil and Traditional Foil blend - takes the best speed generating attributes of the Vector foil (at the base) and transitions into a flat foil in the tip for a controlled release in critical turns.  Rusty and the pro team have helped develop this hybrid which keeps your surfing smooth and progressive.

VECTOR V.1

Outline: D. Haut

Material: Natural Composite Molded-resin with long fiberglass matrix, this composite material fuses into a sensitive, snappy and lightweight fin that retains the proper flex pattern for performance.  Super light material that practically floats.

Maurice Cole 5'8 Metro 3 Surfboard

Regular Price: $679.95

Special Price: $549.99

Add to Cart
The Maurice Cole Metro Surfboard combines width and thickness from the old retro fish, but introduces a tow inspired bottom rocker and a very deep concave. More width in the tail creates a larger sweet spot and an accentuated change in curve at the 1 mark loosens the board up. This board replaces all Fish type boards.

This design has a foot in both camps. Stability and float while still maintaining the edgy characteristics of speed and rippability. Evidence that you can occasionally teach an old dog new tricks.

The Metro is easy to turn and will suit surfers that like a retro feel, but want performance from a board. Unlike an old school fish the Metro 3 will sit high on steep fast sections and won’t morph into a shopping trolley style slide when you want to lay a full tilt cutback or carve deep lines into the wave face. Ask and you shall receive. This is no bog monster.
